My review of the Newcon Optik 20×50 Image Stabilized Binoculars:

The new Newcon Optik 20×50 Image Stabilized binocular is one of the basic models of image stabilization binoculars by Newcon. It has a magnification power of 20x, while the diameter of the objective lens is 50 mm. It is neither waterproof nor fogproof. However, it’s equipped with ultra fine image stabilizers which help in giving the most shake free viewing experience.

On reading most of the user reviews, it’s not hard to guess that the Newcon optik 20×50 image stabilized binoculars have more drawbacks than advantages. One of its unique features is that it does not require batteries for its operation! Though this may sound impressive, on practically seeing through it, you realize that they have very poor optics which causes chromatic abbreviation. Other that this, Newcon claims that these binoculars come with a centre focus, which once again, like image quality, is not delivered. The left and the right lenses are apparently used for far focusing and short focusing respectively. The sharpness and clarity observed while viewing through the left lens, can be rated as a 4 on a scale of 10. On the other hand, the right lens doesn’t even manage to reach half of the former’s score.

The only advantage of the Newcon Optik 20×50 is its image stabilization. For a non battery operated binocular, the image stabilization is pretty impressive. But this seems to have a drawback too. The image stabilization becomes useless for viewing at an elevation of 45 degrees, and it ruins your view while viewing at an elevation of 70 degrees or above.

All in all, the new Newcon Optik 20×50 Image Stabilized Binoculars have a very impressive concept of image stabilization without batteries. However, Newcon needs to improve on its optics, so as to provide better image quality. Especially features such as center focusing are a must while bird watching, wildlife viewing or astronomical observations. So personally, I would not recommend you to buy one of these, but in case you’re still interested, you can purchase them from many online stores at an approximate price of $1300.

My review of the Nikon 16×32 StabilEyes VR Image Stabilized Binoculars:

The Nikon 16×32 StabilEyes VR Image Stabilized Binoculars are a full sized version of Nikon’s top notch range of image stabilizing binoculars. The image quality, magnification, image stabilization and center focusing, all are ultra impressive to say the least! Among all the binoculars I have ever used, this pair is undoubtedly the finest on any and every basis of comparison.

The image stabilizers are fantastically efficient. Even in the most trembling hands or the most wobbly or shaky situations such as rafting or driving, it gives amazingly stable views. It’s one of those factors that give it an edge over other binoculars of its range. Since these binoculars have a high degree of magnification, it is extremely important that the image stabilization feature works well.

The image quality is extremely good. The view in all kind of light conditions is ultra bright and crystal clear. Compared to other binoculars in its range, the Nikon 16×32’s optics are outstanding. One exception to that are the Zeiss binoculars. Needless to say, Zeiss’s optics are a class apart. The prisms used are phase corrected coated prisms which form very bright and highly resolved images.

If you’re planning on buying a pair of binoculars anytime soon, try the Nikon 16×32. If you’re still doubtful, try reading other reviews. I was just going through other costumer reviews and the word “impressive” is an understatement. It almost seems that this thing has no drawbacks at all. And another aspect that makes it worth buying is that the price is affordable! Impossible to believe, isn’t it! I just gifted it to one of my friends, and it’s altered her whole wildlife viewing experience all together. All in all, I’d recommend anyone to buy it hands down. Don’t think twice, it’s worth every penny you pay for it.

Waterproof and dust proof

My review of the Canon 18×50 IS Binoculars:

These new Canon 18×50 IS image stabilized all weather binoculars (4624A002) are an excellent addition to Canon’s range of binoculars. They are equipped with image stabilizers to give you the perfect shake-free viewing experience. Needless to say, like all other Canon binoculars, its optical features are magnificent. The wide 50 mm objective lens gives amazing contrast and picture clarity.

These binoculars are highly durable in all kinds of weather conditions; they’re water proof, dust proof and shock resistant, making them recommendable for all kind of adventure trips.

These binoculars are also known to give ultra bright images even in dim light situations. The super spectra coating present on the lenses does not reflect too much light; as a result it makes the image brighter.

Compared to other binoculars in the same range, the Canon 18×50 is lighter and more compact, making it more field worthy. Also, it has a strong construction with a very high magnification power. These features, along with its image stabilizers make it ideal option for bird watching, hunting or event viewing.

Most users seem to have a common complaint that the lens cap should be attached to the binoculars since this way they don’t tend to get lost. Other binoculars in the same range, such as the Zeiss are far better in terms of optical image quality, however, the image stabilization is found to be better in the Canon.

Generally costumer reviews show that most users are happy after buying the Canon 18 x 50. While buying the same, ensure that you buy a neck strap for it since it isn’t pre installed. You can easily buy them from many online stores at an approximate price of $1100 only. Do your research thoroughly before purchasing them because some websites offer attractive discounts.

The new Canon 8×25 Image Stabilized Binoculars are one of the ‘end of the range’ binoculars by Canon, but they are still pretty good.

They have image stabilizers to give shake free viewing; however it has a few glitches you might notice here and there.

Read my review below for more info, I didn’t get to use them a lot, but I tried to hit the most important points.

Main Features:

8x Magnification power

Image stabilizers

Multicoated lenses

Model 7562A002

Comfortable design.

My review of the Canon 8×25 IS:

Canon 8×25 Image Stabilized Binoculars are one of the cheapest image stabilizing binoculars by Canon. They come with basic features such as a magnification power of 8x, multicoated lenses for bright images and a design that is convenient to use.

One of the major drawbacks of the Canon 8 x 25 binoculars is that they’re neither waterproof nor dustproof. So you have to take extra care while nature photography; especially during the rains. Another drawback is that they’re not highly resistant to shocks, in other words, you need to handle them with care to ensure their long life.

Canon claims that it’s the lightest and the most affordable 8x binoculars with image stabilization. Without a doubt, the Canon 8×25 fits into these claims effortlessly. However, in order to accommodate all these features in such a small package, Canon had to compromise on the slow motion sensors. Though it’s helpful for image stabilizing, it almost has no correction for slow motion.

The magnification in these binoculars, as compared to others is very small, yet the image stabilization in the 8×25 is not as effective as it is in the 10×30. Likewise, three are many other minor drawbacks that have creeped into the 8×25 design while compressing it to such a small size.

But these binoculars are pretty ok if you need them for a casual viewing experience. Its image quality is pretty impressive as compared to its other features; it forms bright, sharp, clear and vibrant images in almost all kind of light situations.

The cheap price and the low magnification makes them ideal incase you’re not willing to spend too many bucks and if you’re not so into nature photography. All in all, they give a decently good view and make your field trip enjoyable, incase you’re with family and are carrying them just for a decent viewing experience. Their price (unbelievably) is approximately $250 only! So go and get yourself a pair of these, you surely wont regret it! You can buy them from any of the online stores at a reasonable price that includes shipping.

My review of the Canon 15 x 50 IS Binoculars:

The new Canon 15 x 50 is an outstanding version of Canon binoculars. It brings together all the important features required in a binocular for all kinds of viewing. It has remarkable optics, that give brilliant clarity, sharpness, contrast and brightness, making every view a memorable one.

The binoculars have a strong construction, making them more durable for field trips. They’re also waterproof, dustproof and shock resistant, thus making them ideal for all kind of requirements like bird watching, astronomy, sea viewing, hunting and nature photography.

The 50 mm objective lens gives extra bright images in all kind of light situations. The high magnification can be a problem while hand held viewing, because minor muscles twitch can give a very big difference in the view. So the image stabilizer is an additional feature that is highly useful. The image stabilizer helps in steadying the view during hand held viewing.

Earlier on, the usual complaint by users was that the finger that holds down the image stabilizing button becomes numb after excessive use. However, the new design includes a button that you need to press once to enable the image stabilizing feature, and then press once to disable it. Incase you forget to switch it off; it has an automatic switch of within 5 minutes. This is another aspect that makes the Canon 15 x 50 more convenient than other binoculars of its range.

On going through most costumer reviews on various websites, it seems that the Canon 15 x 50 Image Stabilization binoculars are a good buy with a very few drawbacks, if any. So go ahead and get a Canon 15 x 50 to enhance your viewing experience and take it to a whole new level. The average price for these binoculars is $1500; however some websites offer it all amazing discounts, reducing its price to less than $1000!

My review of Canon 10 x 42 L IS WP Image Stabilized Binoculars:

The new canon 10x 42L has set new standards for all other binoculars in the same range. It has outstanding image quality, is highly durable and very compact, making it the perfect choice for any kind of field trip. The image stabilizers in these canon binoculars are very efficient giving a magnificent shake-free view, like never before.

The canon 10x 42L is entirely waterproof, dust resistant and shock resistant. Some users had a common problem; that canon should make its binoculars water ‘proof’ and not just ‘resistant’, because a large number of users go for nature photography in a canoe or a kayak. Therefore canon came out with 10x42L, making them its first water proof binoculars. So, these binoculars are one of the finest canon can offer.

The optics are fantastic in the canon 10x42L. It gives you amazing image quality, contrast, sharpness and brightness, making it ideal for bird watching, astronomy, sea-watching and nature photography. The large lens diameter and the exit pupil diameter help in giving extremely bright pictures in the lowest light conditions.

The amount of light incident on the camera is directly related to how dark or how dim your images are. Usually some of the incident light gets reflected from an uncoated lens, making the image dimmer and lighter than before. However, the super spectra coating on the lens of the binoculars enables it to avoid reflection of incident light. As a result, most of the incident light is used in image formation. This makes the image very bright irrespective of the surrounding conditions.

Most costumer reviews show that the canon 10x42L is a good buy. It’s probably the best in the range in terms of image stabilization and image quality. So go ahead and buy one for yourself. The average price for these binoculars is $1500 to $2000. But flip through a number of websites before buying them because some of these websites give huge festive discounts.

The Zeiss 20×60 image stabilized binoculars (526000) are almost unique among image-stabilizing binoculars as they do not need batteries for operation. No longer do you have to worry about the batteries running out while spotting. Combined with a 20x magnification, these pair of binoculars are perfect for hours of scoping from a safe distance away from the wildlife.

Main Features

Supreme 20x Magnification

Image Stabilization without Batteries

Rugged Metallic Body

Noise-free Crisp and Clear Images

Superior Precision

My Review of Zeiss 20×60 Image Stabilized Binoculars

‘Image stabilization’ has become a very popular thing among nature enthusiasts. Whenever they venture out for spotting, they insist on taking along image stabilized binoculars. No longer do they have to carry with them the traditional tripods, image-stabilizing binoculars are fast changing the spotting world. And even within the confines of the range of image-stabilizing binoculars a revolution is brewing, spearheaded by Zeiss’ 20×60 Stabilized Binoculars.

The battery-less operation of these binoculars enable you to enjoy spotting even at the remote places where electricity has yet to make a foray. The expertise of Zeiss in optics doesn’t need any introduction and even at the 20x magnification of the binoculars, the images are steady, vivid, precise and crystal clear. As these binoculars do not depend on gyroscopes, there is no lag in stabilization. Another important feature of these binoculars is that they are very rugged. The body is metallic and covered with rubber making them nature-proof.

As you tumble along the rough grasslands in Africa or wade through the tributaries of the Amazon, this pair of binoculars will open the world of wilderness in front of you. A small bird sitting in its nest will appear to be sitting right under your nose or a hunt will take place, seemingly, all around you. You can observe all this by being at a distance far enough to not cause any disturbance. At the same time, your travel will not have to be halted in order to get a close look thanks to the superior optics combined with the powerful image-stabilization.

The number of positive reviews from both critics as well as customers speak volumes about the performance of these binoculars. These pair of binoculars deserve the place at the very top in the world of binoculars. So, although these binoculars may seem pricey at the first glance, a peek at the features will make you feel these are a steal. In addition, these binoculars may be obtained on a sale for even lesser price than the MRP making the buy a daylight robbery. So, go ahead and grab a pair before they are completely sold out!

My review of Canon 12 x 36 IS Binoculars:

If powerful magnification using a pint sized pair of IS binoculars is your need, then Canon 12×36 II image stabilizer binoculars should be your choice. For using these mean little binoculars, you won’t even be required to carry around a tripod with you, as these come with Canon’s awesome image stabilizing technology. If you are an avid gazer, you would know that higher the magnification, the steadier your hands need to be. With this binoculars’ 12x magnification, you would not have to worry about unsteady hands as the microcomputer inside the binoculars will ensure you see a steady image, the vibrations notwithstanding.

The intensity and the clarity of the images produced by these binoculars is truly outstanding. With the help of Doublet field-flattener lenses, the images produced are crisp, flat and distortion free. Also, the apparent field of vision is more than acceptable 60 degrees, meaning you won’t need to turn your head to follow each of the little movements of the object. The stabilization is also remarkable. The inbuilt microcomputer is so fast that within two hundredths of a second, it prompts the apparatus to counteract slightest of vibrations. So even if you are riding in a car, you will get a steady, sharp and clear image with a lot of magnification.

These binoculars have been cleverly designed to make them inconspicuous when in use for watching wildlife. The exterior is low reflectance and the front is low gloss. The Image Stabilization button is placed at the top and center making it easily accessible by both the hands. The focusing is large and also located at an accessible place making the focusing smooth. The eyepieces have large eye-cups that make for a comfortable viewing. The long 14.5 mm eye-relief is ideal for those who wear eye glasses. The binoculars are rugged and the rubber cover over whole of the lens assembly provides impact resistance.

One of the most important features of these binoculars is that only lead-free glass has been used in making the lenses. The Super Spectra lens coating over the lenses do a fine job of eliminating internal reflection and deliver images that are vivid, clear and with accurate color balance. The battery life is also quite decent with four hours of continuous operation possible. The binocular surface is curved and contoured to make it easy to hold. Canon has been in precision optics for 70 years, these binoculars are a testimonial for their experience and expertise. So, why wait buy one today for yourself.

My review of the Bushnell 10×35 StableView:

The Bushnell 10×35 Binoculars are by far the finest 10x binocular in terms of image quality, image stabilization and the overall viewing experience. The optics used in the binoculars is exceptionally good. They produce perfect images with the right amount of brightness, sharpness, contrast and clarity.

The Bushnell 18-1035 is perfect for the ideal viewing experience while in a car or in a boat. This makes the binoculars more preferable as compared to the other low magnification binoculars. The image stabilization technology is very effective, it compensates for almost 3 degrees of movement. The image stabilization comes in two different steps in the Bushnell 10×35. The first is the normal mode, which helps in minimizing major movements like when you’re in a boat or a car. On the other hand, the second is the fine mode which helps in reducing minor movements such as small hand movements that get maximized while using the magnification power.

This aspect makes it an absolute must buy for birdwatchers, wildlife viewing and for other viewing purposes that require low magnification, good image stability and high picture quality. Among other features, it has a wide objective lens that helps in making the images brighter and clearer. It also has a very light and compact design, making it all the more field worthy.

All in all, the most attractive feature in the Bushnell 10×35 is its image stabilization. To add to this, it gives better image quality than most other small magnification binoculars. This makes it one of the best options in its range. So go ahead and buy the Bushnell 10×35 if you’re looking for fine image quality and outstanding image stabilization along with a relatively small magnification power.

You can check out some of the online stores to compare the prices and read other costumer reviews before settling on one website. You can get amazing discounts on it, that too inclusive of shipping! The Bushnell 10×35 comes at an approximate price of $1000.

This Canon 10×30 Image Stabilized Binocular (IS) is based on their unique image stabilization technology, which reduces image shaking. In my opinion it is one of the best consumer-rated binoculars which you can find in the market today.

Main Features of these 10×30 Binoculars:

Can be best used for sporting events or viewing from a unsteady/moving platform

Good for watching objects for a long period of time

10×30 IS, Model# 2897A002

My review of Canon 10×30 IS:

Whether it is bird watching or watching distant wonders using binoculars, one thing that takes away from a rich and enjoyable experience is the shaking of the image due to instability of the hands. The more the magnification, the more these shakes are pronounced. Of course, binocular stands are available to solve this very problem, but it is not always practicable to carry a tripod stand with you. For this reason, image stabilizing binoculars have become quite popular. The Canon 10×30 IS binocular is a fantastic image stabilizing binocular.

The Canon 10×30 binoculars feature digital shake suppression technology. This helps in making the image appear steady to the eye even when your hands are shaking. The stabilizer works with the help of horizontal and vertical gyroscopes to detect motion in all the directions. The motion, arising from shaking, is calculated instantly by a microcomputer and the movement is counteracted optimally either by a set of vari-angle prisms or a tilt mechanism. This effectively produces an image as if there were no vibrations.

What is more is that these binoculars are very light weight, weighing 22 ounces, so carrying them around is very easy. They have been designed keeping in mind ergonomics. The binoculars are nicely contoured to fit in your hands perfectly and are perfect for spending a long time gazing. The focus is mounted at the center and the image stabilization controls are easily accessible by either hand. Your hands will not pain even after a particularly long session of gazing.

The binoculars come complete with neck strap and a case. The image stabilization works just fine in vertical position, as in for star gazing, and horizontal positions. The binoculars are very efficient in their battery usage, with AA batteries lasting typically up to 20 hours; the amount of battery usage can vary depending on various factors though.

The Canon 10×30 IS image stabilizing binoculars (2897A002), owing to these great features, have become quite popular. The clarity, magnification are typical Canon. The image stabilization works very well even if you have very shaky hands. If you are going sea-faring, make sure you take a pair of these with you as the images produced by these will be very stable even if the sea is particularly choppy.

Canon has always been known for their high quality optics and combined with this stabilization technology, gazing at distance has become a joy to the eye. You can buy Canon 10×30 IS and even save money for your favorite events.
